Long time no see, oppo! Been insanely busy (and overwhelmed) with moving, but at least now my beloved Dart has a garage. Yes, Dart, singular; I finally sold my 75. Took a huge monetary hit on it that I don't wanna talk about...

Anyways, what I really wanna know right now is if any Oppoites have any experience with the V8 Taurus SHO's? My car dealer friend has one in and it really caught my eye yesterday. Haven't driven it, but it's in the price range that he'd do an even trade with my van ($3500). So, thoughts, opinions, experiences with V8 SHOs, let me hear it!

The V8 is essentially a V8 version of the V6 duratec 25.

I don't know too much, but I wonder if you could use the larger-bore Duratec 30 bore and pistons to make it a 3.9l V8...

I don't know anything about the cars though.

From what Ive read the engine has tendency to grenade since its an interference engine if you don't take care of the valve train. However the engine is beautiful like an alfa engine minus the chrome. Just needs some love. Check the wiki page.

I've checked Wiki and saw about the cam sprocket issue. Needless to say, I'll be taking the cam cover off to see if it's been welded or not. Kinda would think it's been fixed if it's lasted this long, though I also saw it's happened to about 1200 cars out of 20,000.

I do like that it's a timing chain instead of belt as those generally last longer. I'm not very rough on my cars anymore (was very rough on em when I was younger) and I know how to do 90% of the mechanic work myself, but my health prevents me from doing a lot of the harder work. Before my injury, I'd have already bought this car by now but my health does give me pause when deciding on any car.

That was a pretty long reply but I'm sort of talking it through out loud so to speak. Thanks for the response though!
